Denominations are a Bunch of Hooey!

I don't like denominations.  Well, sure, I like 10s, 20s, and 100s, but I'm talking about church denominations.  I don't like 'em.  You know why we have them?  So we can tell how we're different.  So we can tell where you are wrong and I am right.  So we know what heathen rituals you have that will surely send you to hell.  That's why I think denominations are a bunch of hooey.  And I have my masters in hooey.  Denominations are Hooey 101.

The Church is supposed to be one.....ONE!  I don't care if your choir wears robes, or you play the  tambourine on stage, or you sing from a hymnal, or you kneel to pray, or you speak in tongues, or you strictly follow the 70-minute service rule so you can get home in time for football.  We are one family.  We are the bride of Christ.  So don't ask me if I'm Methodist or Baptist or UCC or Episcopal or Catholic.  Who cares where I/you go to church?  The real question should be, "Have you made a decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ?".  If you can answer that question with a "yes", then I'll see you in heaven.  If your answer is "no", then your church affiliation, or lack thereof, doesn't really matter.

But don't make a one-time decision to follow Jesus Christ; that's too easy.  Make a daily decision to follow Christ.  Conform yourself to the will of God.  Be daily transformed into the likeness of Christ.  Reject the world's standards and values, and have abundant life in Him.  Don't be a denomination; be a true disciple of Christ.
